Teenage bride sentenced to death for killing husband who raped her

A teenage bride killed her husband after he raped he as male relatives pinned her down. The girl has now been sentenced to death. Noura Hussein, 19, told that her father decided to marry her to her cousin when she was 16.She refused to marry him and hid in a relative’s house for three years. She returned to her home on the outskirts of Khartoum in April this year, after her father told her that the marriage was cancelled. Khartoum is the capital of Sudan. ON reaching home she found that her father lied to her and that the preparations for her wedding ceremony were being carried out. Eventually, the married happened, but the bride refused to have *ex with her husband after the ceremony. On the sixth day, the groom raped her as three of his male relatives held her down after she resisted. The man again tried to rape her the next day. She in her struggle to stop him stabbed him and he was killed. A Sharia court, which follows Islamic religious law, found Hussein guilty of premeditated murder last month and on Thursday officially sentenced her to death by hanging. Her lawyers have 15 days to appeal.
