2 minor brothers namely Ahmad, one and half year old, and Muhammad, five, died from food poisoning on Saturday after eating food from two places – Arizona Grill and Chunky Monkey, the mother of the two minors was hospitalised due to food poisoning.

They ate candy floss at Chunky Monkey and went to Arizona Grill in Zamzama for dinner with their mother.

The family had dined out on the night of November 10 (Saturday) at Arizona Grill restaurant located in Defence Housing Authority's (DHA) Zamzama area and afterwards, had consumed candy from a shop outside Chunky Monkey amusement park located in Phase IV, DHA.

The next day, both kids and their mother were sick. At around 2:45pm they were brought to a private hospital,  the youngest died before reaching the hospital. Their mother is still under medical observation.

Authorities have said that it would be thoroughly probed if the food poisoning was caused by restaurant food, candy or the milk they consumed at their home.

Samples of their vomit and blood stains on their clothes have been sent for forensic tests.

The unfortunate mother was not even aware that her two young sons had passed away. As she battled for her own life, her family tried to pacify her that her sons were fine and under treatment.

Her family at last informed her of her sons’ fate. Her husband then brought the children’s bodies to the hospital so she could bid them farewell.

An investigating committee has been formed, “Samples from the bodies and blood specimens have been taken, and the chemical analysis reports will be released in five to 10 days to ascertain the actual cause of deaths.”

The food authorities sealed the godown of the eatery on Tuesday after conducting a raid and recovering one of the meat packages which bore expiry date from 2015.
