Appeal to help find Nazakhat Hussain, 27, missing from his home in Burton

Detectives have expanded their search area and continue to appeal for members of the public to come forward in their search for missing 27-year-old Nazakhat Hussain from Burton.

The last confirmed sighting of factory worker Nazakhat was more than five weeks ago on Wednesday 17 October at 3pm on Edward Street in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire.

Enquiries over the past week have led police to believe he could have travelled to Manchester, and police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or spoken to a man matching Nazakhat’s description.

Nazakhat is described as an Asian male, 5ft 8ins tall, with a slim build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jumper and jeans and a grey bomber jacket.

Detective Inspector John Quilty, of Staffordshire Police’s CID South, said: “We are urging any friends or members of the public who may have seen or spoken to Nazakhat over the last few weeks to come forward.

“I’d also like to appeal directly to Nazakat himself – if for some reason you believe you’re not able to contact your family I’d ask you to call police so we know you are safe and well. There is support available.”

Anyone with any information should contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting 791 of 17 October, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
