British Woman, 29, Conned Millionaire Boyfriend out of £250K to Get him UK Stay is Jailed

Kadi Al-Shamarai, 29, of Acton, west London who conned her UAE businessman boyfriend Moeen Al-Hamiri out of £250,000 claiming she could get him UK residency has been jailed at Southwark Crown Court.

Kadi-Al-Shamari met Moeen Al-Hamiri in a London cafe in 2015 when Mr Al-Hamiri was on holiday in the UK.

The pair quickly started a relationship, exchanged telephone numbers and Mr Al-Hamiri invited her on a three-week holiday to Dubai.

When Kadi Al-Shamarai reached in Dubai in April 2015 after invitation, the couple talked of marriage and children there.

Mr Al-Hamiri paid for her rent, expensive clothes and two credit cards with a £7,000-a-day limit.

Kadi Al-Shamarai spend about £10,000 a week during her stay in Dubai. During her stay she asked her boyfriend to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK so they could see more of each other.

She told her boyfriend to get him permanent right to remain in the UK, but demanded £250,000 to sort it out with the Home Office to get him UK residency, which he agreed.

She returned back to UK in May 2016 and she contacted him in July telling him that she had arranged an application with a solicitor and she needed £5,000.

Further he gave her £100,000 in one day to 'finalise the papers', but soon became suspicious when he realised he hadn't seen any Home Office documents and there were spelling mistakes in the copies she gave him.

It was clear to you that he was falling for you and that he was generous and would be generous to you.

'He thought you were in love with him and you played with that. You discussed starting family.'

During the trial, she was told by court, It was clear to you that he was falling for you and that he was generous and would be generous to you.

'He thought you were in love with him and you played with that for greed.'

She was found guilty of defrauding Mr Al-Hamiri out of £250,000 and jailed for 30 months at Southwark Crown Court.
