Danyal Bashir, 19, charged for Kicking and Attacking Traffic Warden in Alum Rock

Danyal Bashir, aged 19, of Hartopp Road, Alum Rock, has been bailed to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on October 16.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of robbery was released while the investigation continues.

The attack happened on Hartopp Road in the Alum Rock area of Birmingham on 14 September just after 5pm on Friday.

A previous hearing was told the warden was pulled off his bike and left with a split lip and bruising to his head and hands.

 He was taken to hospital but despite the violence used in the attack, did not suffer any serious physical injuries.

A video of the attack was posted on social media which showed the warden being repeatedly kicked in the head and body by several men.

Further a man can be heard Calling "D" to move.


Bashir, who was warned he is likely to receive a jail sentence, will be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on 23 November.
