Last night, the first event of the much-awaited wedding of the year kicked off with a mehndi and sangeet event, which was attended by the duo’s closest friends.
During the sangeet ceremony, Ranveer got down on his knees for Deepika and delivered an emotional speech.
Deepika and Ranveer have adopted a no-phone policy at their wedding venue. They said they will publish the wedding photos themselves on social media.
The family of the couple is quite excited and in order to surprise them on their special day, the families of the two arranged a special guitar tribute for them. All the songs of the power couple were played on the guitar and both not only listen to the songs but also sang and danced as well.

Deepika Padukone is now officially Deepika Ranveer Singh after tying the knot today in Italy.
A reception will be held in India on the 21st of November.
