Father of 2, Sharif Ali, 26, Stabbed to Death while trying to break up a fight in East London

Zakaria Bukar Sharif Ali, 26, was killed on Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, in east London just before 6.30am on Saturday November 24. He had been at the Rolling Stock bar, before he was fatally attacked while trying to intervene in a fight.





Zakaria Abukar Sharif-Ali was acting as 'peacemaker' between two men who were rowing outside a nightclub in Shoreditch, east London, when he was killed.



‘After leaving the Rolling Stock bar, he tried to intervene in an altercation taking place outside. He was attempting to calm the incident and was stabbed as a result.’



Officers, London Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service treated him at the scene before he was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

He was taken to a central London hospital in a critical condition where he died a few hours later.


Zakaria had two children, a son aged four and a daughter aged two. His sister Bushra said: ‘He stepped in to stop it, that’s what we know from what the police told us. And that’s the kind of guy he was.’


While another sister Khuluud, 24, added: ‘My brother wasn’t involved in the things that come with knife crime. ‘He was the kind of person to try and get people away from that and help people


 Zakaria’s death brings London’s homicide total to 122 so far this year, four more than in the whole of 2017.


Police are now appealing for information on two male suspects, One is described as being in his 20s, about 5ft 10in, of stocky build and of Mediterranean appearance with olive skin and short, dark hair. The other is a white man, about 6ft, with a heavily build, fair-ginger hair and a fluffy beard.
