Indian media, Delhi police, wrongly portraying Pakistani students as terrorists

According to Indian media reports, the New Delhi police on November 20 released the photograph of the two men posing beside a milestone at Wagah border and asked locals to remain vigilant and call police in case they see or find any information about the two men.

The photograph showed them posing with a milestone which read Delhi was 360 kilometre away and Ferozepur 9 kilometre away.

Two students named Tayyab and Nadeem of Jamia Islamia Imdadia Faisalabad, who were on visit in Kasur border, and posted a picture of them with a milestone.

But Indian media went crazy and portrayed them as terrorists, who have crossed the border for terrorist activities in New Delhi, whereas pictures of the students uploaded on social media are on Pakistani side of Kasur border.

Mufti Muhammad Tayyab, head of the Jamia Islamia Imdadia said, Indian media acted irresponsibly. He added that it has done nothing new and continued with its propaganda against Pakistan as per its practice.

He further explained that Tayyab and Nadeem are students of Jamia Islamia Imdadia Faisalabad where they have been studying religious education for the last 7 years and 5 years, respectively.

Both went to attend a Tableghi Ijtimah at Raiwind and from there they went to Kasur border where they took their pictures inside Pakistan territory and uploaded them on social media.

But Indian media hawks with malicious intention are trying to give a tilt that both students have entered into Indian territory to carry out terrorist activities, which is incorrect as the students are still present in Jamia Islamia Imdadia Faisalabad and are regularly attending their classes.

Seminary students Tayyab and Nadeem who were also present in the news conference said, "After attending Ijtimah we went to Kasur border for entertainment and at Pakistani side we made our pictures which were later on uploaded on social media. Indian media was propagating baseless rumors against us."
