JKPP Chief Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan passes away at a hospital in Islamabad

Chief of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP) Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan passed away at a hospital in Islamabad, Sunday morning.



Khan suffered brain haemorrhage on Saturday and was admitted to the hospital.

Sardar Khalid Ibrahim was born in Rawalakot, AJK on November 5, 1948. He was the son of AJK’s founding president Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan. He was also the president of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP).

Before burial, his funeral prayer was held at Sabir Shaheed sports stadium in Rawalakot which was attended by thousands of people including President AJK Sardar Masood Khan, former Prime Ministers, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan, President Pakistan Peoples' Party AJK Ch. Latif Akbar, Ministers, members if legislative Assemblyand government officials.

Late Sardar Khalid Ibrahim was the son of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, the founder AJKPresident and was elected as member of legislative Assembly five times from Rawalakotconstituency.

President AJK Sardar Masood Khan in his condolence message expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan. "We’ve lost a great leader, son of Ghazi-i-Millat of a great family" he said. He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.


AJK government announced a holiday for schools and government offices on Monday as the mark of respect to former legislator and scion of Sardar Ibrahim Khan family.


Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed deep grief over Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan’s demise. In a condolence message, the PPP chairman lauded the services of Sardar Khalid Ibrahim for the Kashmir cause and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
