The incident took place at Uchdih village in Hajipur, the headquarters of Vaishali district, in Bihar earlier this week. Arun Kumar, a father of two children, had married Madhu Kumari 10 years ago and they had a happy married life. He, however, had to leave his village in search of livelihood.
On Sunday, local villagers caught his wife in the company of her boyfriend Shrawan Kumar and informed her husband. A village court was soon held during which both the woman’s husband and her boyfriend were told to be present. During court proceedings, the woman revealed she loves her boyfriend and wants to stay with him. She prayed to the court to allow them live as husband and wife.
Acting on her appeal, Arun promised to fulfill his wife’s wish. The very next day on Monday, he solemnised the marriage of his wife with her boyfriend at a local temple in the presence of a large number of villagers. But that was not the end of the end of the story. To ensure the newly-married couple didn’t face any trouble in their life, he took them to a local court the very next day on Tuesday and got legal confirmation of their marriage.
Job done, the man saw off his wife and even handed over his two children to them. “I didn’t want to play villain and allowed them to lead a happy married life. There was no point in staying together when she (woman) wanted to stay with her boyfriend,” said Arun.
Earlier this month in Bhaglapur district, a man had married off wife to his younger brother after they fell in love and vowed to stay together.
