New jury to be formed for Yassar Yaqub Case, Shot dead by a police marksman

Moshin Amin, Rexhino Arapaj and David Butlin have all denied plotting to carry out a shooting with their associate Mr Yaqub during a possible 'feud' in January last year.

Almost 2 years ahead, still the family has no answers which is truly heartbreaking for them to endure such a tragedy and live on each day in hope to get some answers.

Three men accused of having a gun when their associate was shot dead by police on the M62 had the weapon because of a "possible feud", a court heard.

Mohsin Amin, Rexhino Arapaj, and David Butlin were travelling in convoy with Yassar Yaqub in January 2017 when armed police shot Mr Yaqub near Huddersfield.

A jury at Leeds Crown Court  heard how the four men were in two cars travelling in convoy when the 28-year-old, of Crosland Moor, was shot dead by a police marksman.

Mr Justice Turner discharged the jury which had been hearing the case last week and ordered the trial to resume with a new jury.

Dismissing the jurors, he said: "I am going to discharge you from further involvement in this case."

Butlin, 39, previously of Upper Sunny Bank in Meltham, but now living on Huddersfield Road in Holmfirth, also denies having an offensive weapon, namely a push dagger.

Amin is 32, previously of Broomer Street, Ravensthorpe, but now living at a bail address in Manchester and Arapaj is 28, of Thornlea Road in Crosland Moor.

The trial, which is expected to last three weeks, will resume with a new jury on Monday.
