Pair Jailed for 18 Years, Caught with 50KG Heroin worth £4.6 million in Snaresbrook

Jeetendra Parekh, 48, of Long Readings Lane, Slough was sentenced to nine years' impriosonment after found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs following a three-day trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.



His female accomplice Sibela Ahmed, 29, of Langdale Close, Dagenham pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to possession with intent to supply and was jailed for eight years on Monday, 8 October.



Police stopped a taxi carrying both Parekh and Sibela Ahmed on Meath Road, Ilford. Sibela Ahmed was sitting on the back seats and in the foot well by her feet was a plastic bag containing approximately five kilograms of heroin.



A plastic bag containing 5kg of heroin was found in the rear passenger foot well, with an estimated street value of £500,000.

Officers later searched an address linked to Ahmed and found a further 46kg of heroin. The street value was estimated to be £4.6 million.

She appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court while in remand where the case was transferred at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Detective Constable Kevin Rowley said Over 51kg’s of heroin has been removed from London’s streets which will no doubt save plenty of lives and help eradicate an issue which has blighted not just London, but the rest of the UK.

Ahmed was clearly thinking about herself when she agreed to store this large amount of heroin and now she will be able to spend the next eight years thinking about the consequences that it has caused her.

She was pleaded guilty, Ahmed was sentenced to eight years in jail at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
