Yasser Khan, 33, Jailed, Discarded 100 wraps Drugs, jumped out of car to escape police in Derby

Yasser Khan, 33, of Mill Hill Road, Derby had tried to drive away from officers as they followed him in Osmaston Park Road, he discarded more than 100 wraps of class A drugs as he jumped out of his car and tried to escape from police.




The offence took place on July 20 last year, when a car containing four people activated the automatic number plate recognition camera located in Osmaston Park Road.


The police followed the car Yasser Khan drove away from the officer then decamped the vehicle and ran off.


Yasser Khan also threw away the wraps of drugs during chase, however police officers recovered the discarded drugs nearby which were found to be 101 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine.


68 wraps of crack cocaine were found and 33 wraps of heroin. The total value of the two class A drugs was £670.

Khan pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. No charges were brought against the other three people in the car.

Khan who have seven previous convictions for possession of drugs, was jailed for 28 months at Derby crown court.
