Dad of 4, Yasir Hussain, 37, from Nelson Killed in Machete Stabbing in Birmingham

Yasir Hussain, from Nelson, was stabbed to death with a machete outside a Chinese restaurant in Birmingham on Tuesday.



He was described as a caring and loving family man and father of 4 children, Adil, 13, 8 years old Azaan, Malaika, 11 and Hazan aged 4 years.



Yasir, who co-owned Spar on Melville Street, Burnley, was visiting relatives in Birmingham and went to the takeaway, on Central Drive, to get some food with his cousin shortly after 9.30pm.



a van rammed into the store's shop window and the two men were chased by a group of people carrying weapons.

Yasir was stabbed three times in the back while trying to escape and left fatally injured while his cousin managed to escape, Yasir was pronounced dead at scene.

His family members including Siyqa Khamum, 39, also from Nelson, travelled with her mother and father and other relatives to University Hospital Coventry, where her brother had been taken, later that night.

Yasir's mum collapsed and his dad just fell after hearing the sad news of their son's death.

The family left the hospital an hour later to travel to back to Nelson because doctors would not let them stay at the hospital.They will travel back to Birmingham tomorrow to see Yasir's body for the first time.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man, from West Bromwich, on suspicion of murder together with a 21-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Three men, aged 32, 36 and 41, all from Lower Gornal, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday night but have since been released pending further investigation.
