Father and Son jailed for more than 7 years for peddling hard drugs in Derby

Tareem Shakil, 26, of Curtis Way, Burton and Mohammad Shakil, 47, of Shobnall Street, Burton, ran a drugs operation from three addresses in Swadlincote, now have been jailed for more than seven years for peddling hard drugs.



Bother father and son ran a drugs operation from three addresses in Swadlincote, they appeared at Derby Crown Court on Friday afternoon after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, including heroin and crack cocaine.



Shakil's father Mohammed Shakil previously pleaded not guilty but was found guilty during a trial at the crown court on Thursday, November 8.


Ntabagara, 44, of Daley Close, Birmingham, was said to have only been part of the operation “for only two hours” yet pleaded guilty to the conspiracy.

While father and son have 102 previous offences between them dating back to 2005. Tareem Shakil has a total of 77 previous offences, which include dishonestly, criminal damage and robbery while his father has 25 convictions, ranging from previous drugs offences, assault and wounding.

Tareem Shakil received three years and nine months imprisonment while Mohammad received three and a half years.

Ntabagara received a two-year community order, a six-month drugs rehabilitation requirement order and was ordered to take part in unpaid work.
