Wedding Day of Bride Turns into Nightmare after Mum Nasreen Khan, 47, Died in Hit and Run in Durban

A YOUNG woman’s wedding day turned into a nightmare when her mother was killed in an alleged hit-and-run on Sunday.




A woman was killed and three other people were injured when the car they were travelling in careened out of control on the N2 northbound before the M1 Higginson Highway off-ramp in Durban.

Mum, Nasreen Khan, 47, whose daughter Nabila was getting married and it was her wedding day, when her mother Nasreen Khan was coming back from a beauty parlour, but on way the car careened out of control and rolled before coming to a rest on its roof on Sunday.

Nasreen Khan who was driving the car, had sustained major injuries and there was nothing more paramedics could do for her and she was declared deceased on the scene.

As per eye witnesses a white Ford Fiesta or Focus - was involved in the accident and then left the scene.

Three other occupants of the vehicle including bride, Nabila, had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on the scene.

All of them were on their way back from getting their hair done in preparation for the wedding that evening. The wedding is postponed since then.

Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said Montclair police were investigating a case of culpable homicide.
