Woman, 30, Arrested after Man, 20, stabbed to death ‘for pair of expensive shoes’

A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed to death ‘for a pair of expensive shoes’.

Ahsanullah Nawazai, 20, was found in a pool of blood in the middle of the road in London Colney, a village in Hertfordshire, on Wednesday.






He was suffering from several stab wounds and was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead.


The victim, 20-year-old Ahsanullah Nawazai, had travelled to London Colney, Herts, from his home in Walthamstow, East London, when he was knifed in the street.


Ahsanullah’s neighbours said he was murdered during a row over a pair of shoes he was wearing.

When his body was found, his shoes had been stolen and he was barefoot.

He had travelled all the way to Hertfordshire from his home in Walthamstow, east London.

Police have since confirmed a 30-year-old woman from the village is in custody, suspected of murdering Ahsanullah.


Officers said: ‘A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in London Colney. The woman, who is from London Colney, is currently in police custody.

‘The arrest follows the death of 20-year-old Ahsanullah Nawazai, who was found seriously injured in Walsingham Way at 7.15pm on November 28.

‘He had suffered a number of stab wounds and was taken to hospital, where he later passed away.

‘Any witnesses or anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police should call the non-emergency number 101.’

In a statement, Ahsanullah’s family said: ‘He was a happy person, a lovely kid and much-loved member of the family.

‘He always had a smile on his face.’
