Danyal Bashir, 20, Jailed for 9 Months for Attacking Traffic Warden in Alum Rock

Danyal Bashir, 20, who pushed a traffic warden after he put a ticket on an illegally parked car in Alum Rock, Birmingham, and kicked his head in a 'ferocious and extreme' sustained attack has been detained for nine months.



Traffic warden, Charlie Weston, 21, was repeatedly punched, stamped on and kicked in the throat while Danyal Bashir, tried to remove his helmet.



The attack happened on Hartopp Road in the Alum Rock area of Birmingham on 14 September just after 5pm on Friday.



The gang was filmed by onlookers who 'voyeuristically' posted the sickening footage on social media, leaving Mr Weston to feel viewers were 'glorifying in his misery'.

After leaving Mr Weston lying in the road and threatening to run him over, the yobs stole his moped before dumping it in a nearby street.

Video was posted on social media went viral, leading to police launching a major manhunt for the attackers and identifying Danyal Bashir.

Traffic warden, Charlie Weston now suffers sleepless nights, anxiety and 'hates his job, motorcycle 'was taken from him to humiliate him'.

Dnayal Bashir, who has a previous conviction for assault, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm at a previous hearing, was sentenced to nine months in a young offender institute after previously admitting assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Birmingham Crown Court.
