Bradford Doctor Zakir Ahmed, Whose Wife was Deported, Now Couple Ordered to Re-Pay £3.5million

Bradford doctor couple, Zakir Ahmed, 51, of Nab Wood Drive, Shipley, was convicted along with his wife, Majula Salian, 53, in 2014 at Bradford Crown Court  linked to £3.5 million of illegal money.



Zakir Ahmed was jailed for 9 years for leading role in money laundering while his wife, Majula Salian was locked up for three years for her part in the money laundering scam in 2014 and was deported to back home India after serving the three years jail term.



They set up a series of fake companies to launder criminal money and transfer it, in to China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai and India.

The couple worked as doctors in India, after they arrived in UK, Zakir Ahmed was employed as a trainee doctor at St Luke's Hospital, Bradford, and did sub-contracted work while his wife Majula Salian stayed as house wife.

Today court ordered Zakir Ahmed to pay back £3,545,921 in three months or face another 10 years behind bars.

Salian was ordered to pay £17,440 within three months or face another year in prison.
