Staff members of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and certain travel agents have reportedly been involved in defrauding passengers as complaints have surfaced of people travelling in place of those who had booked their seats first.
According to sources, some travel agents are selling confirmed seats. In addition, certain staff members are also involved in the boarding of other people instead of those who made reservations.
When passengers who earlier did reservations reach the airport, they found that another person has used the ticket.
However, instead of helping these passengers out, PIA staff urge them to buy new tickets.
According to sources, it is not possible to make changes in flight and sector numbers without the assistance of PIA staff.
However, since the central reservation system of airline was moved from Karachi to Islamabad, fraud incidents are increased and dozens of similar cases have been also reported so far.
