Verdicts Delivered in M62 Gun Trial, Moshin Amin, 32, Butlin, 39, Guilty for Firearms, Offensive weapon

The verdicts have been delivered in the M62 gun trial. Three men Mohsin Amin, 32, of Manchester, Rexhino Arapaj, 28, of Thornlea Road in Crosland Moor, and David Butlin, 39, of Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth,  have been standing trial accused of a firearms conspiracy following the police operation in which Yassar Yaqub was shot dead by a police marksman on the sliproad of the M62 motorway at junction 24 at Ainley Top, near Huddersfield.



Moshin Amin, who was driving the Audi in which Mr Yaqub was travelling, has been found guilty of conspiracy to possess firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.



David Butlin, 39, of Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth has been found guilty of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a push dagger, on the day of the shooting.



Rexhino Arapaj, 28, of Thornlea Road, Huddersfield,  in the M62 gun conspiracy trial have been found not guilty of conspiracy to possess firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.



Mohsin Amin, Rexhino Arapaj, and David Butlin were travelling in convoy with Yassar Yaqub in January 2017 when armed police shot Mr Yaqub near Huddersfield.





A jury at Leeds Crown Court  heard how the four men were in two cars travelling in convoy when the 28-year-old, of Crosland Moor, was shot dead by a police marksman.




 Aminr previously of Broomer Street, Ravensthorpe, but now living at a bail address in Manchester and Arapaj is 28, of Thornlea Road in Crosland Moor are due to be sentenced next week.
